Weird News

Jonathan Lee Riches is believed to be the most prolific lawsuit-filer ever to operate from behind bars. His "docket" now includes more than 1,000 cases in just over two years (with eight more years to go on a federal sentence for fraud), including claims totaling several trillion dollars from "injuries" inflicted on him by such people as President Bush, Martha Stewart, Steve Jobs, Britney Spears, Tiger Woods (luggage theft), Barry Bonds (illegal moonshine production), and football player Michael Vick ($63 billion for allegedly stealing Riches' pit bulls and selling them on eBay so that Vick could in turn buy missiles from Iran).

It definitely was not Ricky Lee Jones' lucky day. Not only did the 53-year-old Iowa City man get robbed of his winnings at an illegal dice game, he got busted when he filed a complaint with police. After Beauhanan Walker allegedly ran off with the pot, Jones called cops and said he wanted his "portion of the winnings." Walker was later arrested as well. Both face a year in jail.

They're the Hansel and Gretel of crime. Cops in Cincinnati tracked a group of confectionery robbery suspects by following a trail of candy wrappers leading to their hideout. Four people were arrested on charges of stealing $400 in sweets.

A firefighter in Poland is in hot water for going on an arson spree to pad his overtime pay. Pawol Leszek, 18, faces 10 years in prison.
He allegedly torched two barns and was caught setting another blaze.
"He said he just wanted to get money to buy his girlfriend a birthday present," a police spokesman reported.
